Zabinski SolsticeOctober 12, 2007- Zabinski -Qualifies 1st in a car built at the track.

TOPEKA, Kan. (October 12, 2007) Ed Zabinski came to the run offs with his Lotus Elise expecting that it was the car to have and that it would do the job in getting him on the podium. After several practice sessions Ed found himself struggling to keep up with several competitors. He realized that all of those cars ahead of him were the same make of car and from the same race team. Joe Aquilante's Phoenix Performance Group had unleashed a new rocket for T2, The Pontiac Solstice - GXP. Phoenix Performance had spent a great deal of time testing with GM, ANZE Engineering and Don Knowles to develop the suspension of this platform, making sure that it would outperform the competition.

After some discussion Ed purchased an new unfinished Solstice from Phoenix Performance and had it shipped from Pennsylvania to Heartland Park in hopes of converting it to T-2 spec in time for the next days qualifying session. Angelo Zarra, the owner of ANZE said "if you get the car here, I will make sure we will have the shocks here to qualify on". The car made its overnite journey in time for the anxiously awaiting team to finalize the build. Everybody pitched in from Phoenix Performance, GM and ANZE Engineering to make it happen. It took the better part of a day to complete even coming down to the wire with a few laps around the paddock area right before the qualifying session.

"The car was flawless, thanks to everyone that helped out", said Zabinski.
